Printed Circuit Board Assembly (PCBA) is a critical process in electronics manufacturing, where electronic components are mounted onto a printed circuit board (PCB) to create a functional electronic device. This process transforms a bare board into a complete assembly that powers various applications, from consumer electronics and industrial machines to automotive systems and medical devices.
PCBA typically involves several stages, including solder paste application, component placement, and soldering. The process begins with applying solder paste to specific areas of the PCB using a stencil. This ensures accurate and consistent deposition. Afterward, surface-mount components are placed on the board using automated pick-and-place machines, known for their high speed and precision. For through-hole components, manual or automated insertion techniques can be used depending on the complexity and volume.
